Description

This Universal Intumescent Sashlock Kit is a crucial passive fire protection component designed for installation around sashlocks in timber fire door applications. It is made from graphite material and tested extensively to BS 476 Part 22 and BS EN 1634-1 standards. This kit is suitable for use on both 30-minute and 60-minute timber fire doors. In the event of a fire, when heated to approximately $180^\circ\text{C}$, the graphite expands up to 30 times its original volume, sealing the gaps around the sashlock and maintaining the fire integrity of the door assembly. The material is completely non-toxic, non-fibrous, and safe to handle without requiring PPE. It is also highly durable, being unaffected by moisture, humidity, or atmospheric pollution. The kit provides excellent temperature insulation before and after expansion.
