Description

These Intumescent Hinge Pads are a critical component for maintaining the fire integrity of timber fire door assemblies, designed specifically to be fitted behind door hinges. The pads measure 100mm x 30mm with a 1mm thickness and are made from durable graphite material. They are tested extensively to BS 476 Part 22 and BS EN 1634-1, confirming suitability for both 30-minute and 60-minute timber applications. In the event of a fire, the graphite activates at approximately $180^\circ\text{C}$ and expands over 6 times its original volume, effectively sealing the hinge gap and preventing the spread of fire and smoke. The material is non-toxic, non-fibrous, safe to handle without the need for PPE, and remains unaffected by moisture, humidity, or atmospheric pollution. Sold in packs of six pieces.
